In the longer term we are working on an update to the Overleaf editor to make it easier to use grammar/language checkers like Writefull and Grammarly directly within the editor.

You can install the app in Google Chrome or in other word processing software on your computer. Please note that these are external plugins (use at your own discretion), and neither of these is officially provided by or supported by Overleaf, although we have worked with the Writefull team to help provide feedback on earlier versions of their plugin. This popover offers five options to assess and improve your selection with the use of the Google Books database. This plugin puts your manuscript text into a textarea, which Grammarly can then parse to provide suggestions. Writefull is an application that provides feedback on your writing. There is a bug in the current Writefull (version 2021.11.0) for Overleaf. However, Writefull is the only advance option I know for Overleaf.
You can use Writefull in any writing tool - from MS Word to Gmail. This plugin provides a similar type of language checker, that works by highlighting words and suggesting changes directly within the Overleaf editor. The Grammarly clearly beats Writefull down in Word (Grammarly's language skills are wider/deeper, at least in the paid version).
